The Basics: A Video Summary

The People: Daniel and Rachel Graham

Daniel attended Oregon State University and received a B.S. in Animal Sciences in 2005 and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2009.  He then went on to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in International Animal Health from the University of Edinburgh in 2010.  He practiced as a small animal veterinarian in Oregon City for a year and a half.

Rachel earned her B.S. in Business Administration from Warner Pacific College in 2007.  She has worked in non-profit administration for many years, served with Christian Missionary Fellowship in Mexico City, Mexico (2009-2010).

The Project: His  Very Own

“…our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ…gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are His Very Own, eager to do what is good.”  Titus 2:13-14

Daniel and Rachel work with Community Livestock-Integrated Development (CLIDE) Consultancy which worksUganda primarily among the Karamojong people of NE Uganda. CLIDE uses a multi-modal approach to building relationships and ministering to the Karamojong:

  • Livestock development projects (e.g. revolving micro-loans of goats and camels)
  • Student sponsorship (Timothy Project)
  • Ethno-veterinary medicine research and training
  • HIV/AIDS education
  • Peace and reconciliation programs
  • Discipleship programs

Daniel will be serving as their Livestock Coordinator (responsible for organizing and further expanding livestock revolving loans, breeding programs, and health and husbandry trainings) and Rachel was initially serving as the IT and Financial Adviser, but has shifted her focus as their family has grown to working and supporting from home.

Daniel and Rachel can’t do this alone, please consider how you can partner with them in reaching the Karamojong. Foremost, your prayers are always needed to support this ministry. Please also consider if God is giving you the opportunity to participate through financial partnership.

The Partners

In addition to all of the individual partners who are committed to working with and supporting Daniel and Rachel as they serve in Uganda, the following churches are also committed to the work they are doing:

Stone Creek Christian Church – Oregon City, OR

Abundant Life Church – Damascus, OR

Northwest Hills Community Church – Corvallis, OR

Paso Robles Community Church – Paso Robles, CA

Hope Presbyterian Church – Portland, OR

What a great little video! Very informative. My husband and I serve in Cameroon. I found your blog while googling community development, which we’re starting to be involved with in this country (our mission has done lots in other countries, but due to wars we’ve had to leave those countries). Anyhow, just wanted to give you a little encouragement today. Lord bless your ministry. THANK you for your part in living Jesus’ love.

Thank you for the encouragement. It’s always wonderful to hear from people who are out serving. How long have you been in Cameroon? Thank you also for being His hands and feet. Sincerely, Rachel
